Let’s Talk Lost – 5.01

The show is pushing into it’s fifth (of six) season. If we are applying traditional story structure, we are in the “falling period” and working into the resolution period. If we’re looking at the original Star Wars trilogy this is the first half of Jedi.

There will be spoilers. There will be theories. There will be analysis. Why? Because I love that stuff.

I’m planning on using the comments to criticize and comment on episodes. You are more than welcome to join me.

  1. Yes. I am getting a head start. But I love this show. I plan on watching all three hours tonight, to the detriment of my novel and my girlfriend.

  2. I'll second you on watching all of it tonight, even though I watched all 4 seasons on DVD over the past couple months. God help them if it turns out to be some metaphysical dream-state or some psychobabble like that. I need answers!

  3. Okay… I LOVE how the season began. Do you think that the whispers that we've heard previously are people who are caught in this dimension? Further, who was the woman who Ben referred to as Mrs. Locke? It's not Johns mother… I felt that I should've recognized her, but I did not.

I agree about Widmoore. I think that it's possible that instead of him starting the Dharma Initiative, that he may have played the role of leader to the others in the same respect that Bed did, and now John will.

I really enjoyed your vlog. Keep it up!!!!

  4. Wow, the whisper thing could be blamed on drifting through the time stream, if the show runners were to introduce some theory that people who are dropped into the “jump” are isolated in their own jump.

And I completely missed the bit about Mrs. Locke. Probably due to the bourbon. When was that?

And finally, thanks for stopping by. Always good to find another Lostie.
