I'm with you on the Heroes bit. It's suffering a lot from the writers not seeming to say no. Or at least appearing to. Instead of finding a tight structure and sticking to it, they're going off in a million directions at once and everyone is losing because of it.

Thanks Ethan.

The way I see it, Chuck can only end one of three ways:
1 Chuck ditches the Intersect, gets Sarah, and lives happily ever after (pure comedy ending)

2 Chuck keeps the Intersect, overcomes the hardships of his past, gets the girl, and becomes a full-fledged spy (the triumph ending)

3 Chuck either keeps or ditches the intersect, but loses Sarah and becomes a full-fledged spy, intent on eventually overcoming the missing External force (the dark ending).

The show runners need to pick one of these and move the show towards them. I'm half tempted to just start banging out spec scripts for the show.

bravo and well put, NBC totally needs to hire your pen.

I agree with your Heroes analysis, people need to die and fast (if the audience squawks they can always time travel and bring them back).

Chuck is the new "Get Smart" (not the lame attempt at a movie but the old school TV show) he needs to leave the local Buy Moria sphere on occasion, get a nemesis (perhaps from Stanford) and over extend his double life. After a dozen episodes he can have spidermany thoughts of meaning and purpose and reinvent himself later.
