My notes
Annual rewatch
Doubles down on Ethan prioritizing his friends over the greater good
Surround sound and Dolby Vision on this are both fantastic
Favorite little touch, when taking the wristband off the dead body post fistfight, the body has cuts on his knuckles. And the fight choreography was so visceral
In the MICU mold, this film feels like the first one to start to insert blatantly cheesey lines. But the Hunt/Faust conversation where she only emotes is so good.
Still, might the second / best Mission film. Pacing is fantastic. Plotting is mostly causal. The continuity ties are largely coherent.
Thinking back, this film made Lane a better villain than the film in which he was the actual villain
Definitely the best MI film. 4 set the mold, 6 perfected it. Down to the closing line, "please don't make me laugh"
