My notes

I found this film much more enjoyable than the first volume, probably due to the more grounded and personal nature. Not necessarily of the film making (though the aggressively high blood pressure of the first volume seems to have been tamped down. Perhaps those on the Bride's kill list started taking Thiazide). But rather because more time was spent examining history and relationships and the meaning between them.

The training flashbacks were a great way of examining how the Bride came to be and added a nice edge to her surpassing Bill before she tried to leave that life. The final battle packed more emotional than physical weight and the mix of pride and disbelief on Bill's face as he died was far more nuanced than one would expect from this film.

With the recut Whole Bloody Affair getting a drop on 4k later this year, it's probably I'll do a long sit and watch this as they were originally intended.
