My notes

I found this one to be a surprisingly emotionally satisfying film. The plot gets a little thin at times, but the story progresses at a nice clip. The contrast felt much better than it did in Reloaded despising having the same cinematographer (Bill Pope) and the poorly aged CGI wasn’t as poorly aged here despite being of near-equal age.

I think the biggest impact is probably due the story building off the intellectual foundations of the second film in a way that just turns it into a really taught, tense race to the finale. Yes, the film’s logic is a bit thin, but emotional core more than covers for that. As my first viewing in since a pirated VCD on a laptop in a war zone, I’m actually quite glad I revisited this franchise.
