28 Years Later

Release Year: 2025

Synopsis: Twenty-eight years since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one member departs on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

My notes

Good film. Smaller than I expected, but did a good job establishing and expanding the world. Nice use of archival footage to tie in the use of bows to the history of England. Not sure how I completely feel about expanding some of the lore, and the spine removal process was akin to a video game. Also included the first use of the term 'zombie' in a series that had until that point consciously avoided the term.
